My First Post

My First Post

Hi everyone! For those of you who do not know me....I am Ginger Dupre and the owner of Ginger Dupre Photography. I live and run my business out of Saint Mary's, Georgia. It is the cutest and most quiet little town I have ever lived in. Such a nice change of pace from the hustle and bustle of Jacksonville. If you are ever looking for a nice day trip that doesn't involve tons of tourists or traffic, this is your place. Oh, I also just heard that they are planning a ferry service to Fernandina. VERY exciting!

I am married to an amazing man named Jon who inspires me everyday! We have three boys too. Brandon is 16, Sean is 12 and Jonathan is 10. I couldn't ask for better children! I also love animals of all kinds. I especially have a weakness for
Dachshunds and have three of the little stinkers sharing our home with us. Bubba is a shelter rescue, Copper wandered into our yard last Thanksgiving and Vedder is from a puppy store. We also have Leo who is a rescued mix. Then there is Macready or Mac as we like to call him. Mac is the fluffiest and cutest rabbit I have ever seen. He loves to snuggle and eat. Yes, he loves to eat carrots!

We have been blessed with a great group of friends and a wonderful family that we never get to see because we are so darn busy. We promise to start making trips to see you next year! We believe in "what you see is what you get" which means there are no surprises or excuses with us. We are not perfect people and we don't pretend to be. However, we do try to live our lives by striving to do the right thing and by treating others the way we would want to be treated. One of my biggest struggles is that I have a hard time saying things that may "hurt someone's feelings". I always try to see the good in people which means I can also be too trusting of people and I have been hurt more than once in doing so. I am so thankful that my husband has an intuition like no other and can read a person like a book. Now if I would just listen to what he says! I am working on that and realized how much I should listen to his intuition more than ever recently. It is a rare occasion that he gets a bad feeling about someone but when he does, you can trust in it! He is also one of the most intelligent people I have ever met and he is so positive and fun. Yes, I am lucky enough to share my life with a great man who is also my best friend. We also love meeting new people and making new friends!

I am new to photography in the sense of capturing images as a business for clients! I have children so I have been taking pictures of them for years and LOVED doing so. I have boxes and boxes of pictures to prove it! A friend of ours, Tonya of
Tonya Beaver Photography took our wedding photos earlier this year. We decided to buy a digital camera that was geared more toward the "prosumer" and give it a shot to see how it went. To our surprise, people seemed to genuinely enjoy the images I captured for them and I enjoyed it too. Photography requires a lifelong learning commitment and I am ready for the challenge! Two photographers that inspire me right now are Scarlett Lillian (seriously, this girl rocks) and the Becker (of course, who doesn't love the Becker!).

I have always been a fan of
Audrey Hepburn. We can all learn from her. She oozed grace, poise, beauty and classiness. She was very genuine and honest about who she was. Like most women, I love Breakfast at Tiffanys. More important, I love Tiffanys! My two favorite colors are any shade of pink and Tiffany blue. I love fashion and have always been a self professed magazine junkie. I love movies with a good love story. I love shoes and NEED more of them. My husband is always telling me that there is a difference between want and need so I NEED shoes!

A few little known facts about me:

1.) I completed a paralegal certificate (back when that is all you needed)
2.) I originally enrolled in college to major in Interior Design and minor in Photography
3.) I love history but feel like I know so little about it
4.) I secretly wish I was as all around knowledgeable as my husband
5.) I can name all of the books of the bible in the old testament (super fast)
6.) I still remember a phone number of a house I lived in briefly when I was under the age of 9
7.) I rescue bugs

I can't wait to meet new people that will hopefully become my blog readers or are they calling that blog stalking now?! I am working on some exciting new business projects and will slowly unveil them on this blog soon. Thank you for stopping by!
