Just in case....

I'm always on the lookout for new and unique ideas for a bride to incorporate into her wedding. I just love creativity. I was trying desperately to get through over 1000 blog entries on my reader and came across something on Etsy.com that made me giggle. These delightful socks for your future husband are insane cute. Etsy seller ErinBorges offers them in virtually any color you choose!

Sweet Favors

It is fun to see what favor the bride will choose to thank her guests with. Being in the wedding industry, it is easy to feel like you've seen every favor imaginable. I love stumbling upon unique or fresh new ideas when it comes to anything wedding related. Being that I love weddings, new ideas and sweets, this one was quick to please. The really great part is that these favors aren't just for weddings! You can give them as gifts, birth announcements or as favors at other types of events like a baby shower. I'm usually a red velvet kinda gal and Jon prefers chocolate brownies but at the moment the mix that has my attention is the champagne cupcake mix {first mouthwatering image below}. Check out this great Gourmet Gift Company and let the inspiration begin!

P.S. They are pretty affordable too at just $5.00 each {minimum of 24}!

A few of my favorite things....

Vendor Spotlight.....

I am always on the lookout for unique wedding ideas. I am in love with these Save the Dates by ChewingTheCud. You can find their store on Etsy too!

If you prefer the traditional Save the Date cards, you must check out BetsyWhite. I met the very talented and super sweet Gia when I was in Atlanta last year. Her designs are simply stunning.

Coming soon.....a fun wedding I helped shoot this past Saturday, a few fashion trends, some products I can't live without and some more vendor spotlights!

A few of my favorite things....

Here are a few things this week I have stumbled on that I am loving. Being a romantic, I can't get enough of sending an old fashioned telegram. The folks over at TelegramStop will send your personalized message for less than $5. You can send them for any occasion your heart desires.

A few months ago, I was told by a friend about the new line from Cole Haan that features....Nike Air Technology! Ok, so this is one of those things you hear about but just cant believe right. All these years of wearing sky high heels wishing someone, anyone would come to their senses and design a shoe that is somewhat comfortable. You ladies know that no matter how much the shoe costs, you still wind up with achy feet at the end of the night. At the next mall visit, I found these babies and tried them on. Whoa. They are SO comfortable! I was super impressed. One drawback....I didn't care for the designs that were available. So I left a little more than disappointed, until today. Cole Haan is now introducing a line of their Nike Air technology shoes for the bride and they look fab! You really should go check them out for yourself and they are so worth the price which is still more affordable than those Manolos. I'm kinda crazy about these....

Stay tuned....Inspiring photography that I found and am loving, some fun fashion finds, great new products and fab bridal trends coming soon. Oh and maybe a little of my latest work too!

A New Wedding Boutique

Net-A-Porter is an online luxury fashion retailer. I occasionally indulge in their new listings for inspiration and a bit of day dreaming. They recently added a wedding boutique to their site. The feature is the Vivienne Westwood creation that Carrie Bradshaw wore in one of my favorite movies, Sex and The City. This version is a bit shorter but no less than fabulous just like the movie version. Of course, this is not a site for the faint of heart but there are a few great items to be had under $500. I love that they have categories in the boutique like brides, mother of the bride, honeymoon and guests with subcategories for guests that include the type of wedding like beach, country, day and evening. Check them out if only for inspiration.

Dream much??

It doesn't get much better than this. Two of my favorite things in one....diamonds and a cupcake! And they are real! Mervis Diamond Importers created the one and only diamond cupcake. As they suggested, I even Googled it to check for myself and they were right! There are 8 ideal cut round brilliant diamonds on top of the cupcake and a 2 carat Asscher cut diamond smack dab in the middle of all the pink and sweet yumminess. Jonathan Mervis said he decided to create the diamond cupcake "Firstly, I'm having fun. But secondly, I'm in the business of helping make engagements and weddings as stunning and memorable as possible. On the big wedding day when money is no object, I think a diamond-topped cupcake could be the ultimate in luxury. I've already had a few phone calls inquiring about more "affordable" diamond cupcakes, and I could foresee a situation where diamond cupcakes become the 'it' thing for brides. When so many Americans are in the poor house, can it be healthy to dream for a moment and let our minds play with images of decadent diamond cupcakes?" Do you stay up at night wondering how much something like this costs? Thought so. The price tag on the diamond is $30,000 which is the budget of most weddings! I would love to see the wedding of the bride that decides she wants the pink confection for her wedding day and then donates the cupcake to a deserving charity.

Studio On Fire

I love letterpress invitations. There is something so nostalgic about them. I have decided that along with my work, I will have regular weekly posts on various topics like fashion, wedding trends, tips, etc. While I was out looking for some inspiration for this weeks post, I stumbled on Studio on Fire. Wow! I am totally drooling over their work. Makes me want to plan a party! If you are in the market for stationery or know someone who is, definitely check out Studio on Fire. You wont be disappointed.

What's not to love about this set? The colors are great and the design is fantastic and so unique. I read that Adam of Price of Design created them. I watched Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist recently and this design reminds me of it. So fun!

A few of my favorite things....

My blog reader is getting pretty long but I am happy because I have a pretty good mixture of topics to keep me entertained. Lately, I can't seem to stay away from the fashion blogs though. There are some great styles out there right now ladies! I went over to The Brides Guide the other day to take a "quick peek" and ended up staying for over an hour. Here are a couple of dresses I am currently swooning over. If Jon and I were getting married this year, this ruffled Liancarlo gown would quite possibly be mine!

I will admit that I loved the one shoulder trend but felt a little "over it" until I saw this gorgeousness. This gown is from the "Legends" collection by Romona Keveza (my own wedding dress was a Keveza) and was "inspired by classic beauties like Grace Kelly, Jackie O and Audrey Hepburn" so it's no wonder why I love it. The lace details in this collection are exquisite. So ethereal.

Of course, I couldn't end a post without mentioning a fab pair of shoes. Could you just imagine the bold bride that lifted her dress to reveal these sparkly boots by Vanessa Noel? Shocking but in a good way!

And because I am always on the lookout for all things ginger, I couldn't leave out these goodies by The Ginger People. Wouldn't these Ginger Delights make great favors for a wedding or just a delicious and indulgent snack with a hot cup of tea?

Starting this week, I am going to begin regular weekly posts about fashion, shoes, wedding trends and other bits of useful information that I stumble upon in between weddings and other shoots. Please let me know what you think once I get it all up and running!

An Exciting Message for Brides

An Exciting Message for Brides

I have loved weddings since I was a little girl. I have subscribed to every major wedding publication for years. I created "perfect weddings" in my mind based on the current trends and fashion. When I got engaged, I was so excited to start the planning process. I had read about the importance of a planner but figured I knew so much about them, I would be perfect for the job. Wow, did that quickly change! A small intimate party turned into a guest list of over 200 people. Trying to find a venue that I loved to fit that number of people felt like mission impossible. I was trying to work a full time job and make it to cake tastings, menu selections, dress fittings, etc. One vendor even closed up shop with my deposit. In the end we decided to elope! Looking back, I so regret not hiring a planner for my event. They really are worth every penny. Do you know that unless a bride comes to me as a referral from a planner, the first question I ask is "do you have a planner"? As a photographer, I love when my brides say they have an established planner. It means the event will be executed with organized precision and the brides usually seem so much more confident and relaxed. So, I was intrigued this morning when I received an email about a giveaway....

Terrica, the owner of Fabuluxe Events will be giving away a month of coordination service to one VERY lucky couple getting married this April or May in the Savannah, Golden Isles or Jacksonville areas. Ladies, this is a MAJOR giveaway. If you are chosen, you will be working with an event company that is highly recommended, in great demand, behind some of the areas most talked about events, and staffs a professional team of flawless lifestyle event designers. SO, if you recently got engaged and are planning the wedding of the year, you can submit your 400 word (or less) entry telling the uber fab Terrica why your wedding is "Fabuluxe" and send it by email to blog@fabuluxeinc.com. You are also welcome to include pictures of yourself and/or your ideas. The entries are due by February 7 so you better get busy! The winner will be announced on Valentines Day. Good luck!

Details and a Dutchess

Details and a Dutchess

I was so excited when I read that one of my favorite celeb couples were engaged after they began dating back in 2004. I was even more excited when I heard they chose my birthday month of January to exchange their vows! On January 10,2009, Fergie and Josh tied the knot at the Church Estate Vineyard in Malibu. True to her Fergalicious self, Fergie changed into not one but two ultra fab gowns by the ever chic Dolce and Gabbana. She chose super hot Jimmy Choos, a veil studded with diamonds (any bets they were real!?), and a bouquet of white flowers. There were magnolia trees, lighted tents, 25,000 flowers and a 150 pound cake (which I can only imagine was unbelievably delicious!). The star studded guest list included Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel (do a see a wedding in their future?!), Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, and the ever adorable Kate Hudson. She followed 10 bridesmaids dressed in black down the isle to her waiting groom who was telling himself to "keep it together, you big baby". Awww, it makes you think for a moment that celebs are real people too! Their wedding planner Mindy Weiss said she knew she could "bling it up for Fergie" and that "nature was important to Josh". Josh told US magazine that their wedding was all about small details that "incorporated both our personalities". Shortly after the wedding, guests received a gift from the uber hot couple. Fergie and Josh had an amazing invitation made by Lehr and Black that featured their caricatures. What I love about their choice is how it reflected their personalities. Fergie loves unicorns and bling while Josh loves nature. When I saw the photo, I immediately remembered the HP commercial Fergie does where she talks about deep sea fishing with her dad and the caricature was of the couple fishing off a dock. Cute! Congrats to Fergie and Josh! I hope to see some of my future brides incorporate details that reflect their personalities as a couple and as individuals. After all, the details are my favorite part of the wedding planning process and I love photographing them too. Oh and the cakes are pretty great too!
