Pics With Santa
I was so excited when I got the call from DARE asking me to take pictures for their December fundraising event. Shortly after, I went out to the location to meet the staff of San Juan Animal Hospital. What a fabulous and sweet group of people! DARE is a Dachshund adoption and rescue organization but I was happy to see all sorts of breeds come out for the event. Some were dressed in their best Christmas outfits but they all sat in Santas lap and smiled for the camera. I really had the best time helping out! The whole time I was there, I couldn't help but take notice of an extra special pup. She is a Dachshund and was rescued by DARE. She had a pretty horrible start at life and it is amazing that she even trusts people but that is one of the things that draws me to pups....their forgiving nature. It appeared she and her brother had been thrown from a moving vehicle when they were puppies. Luckily she survived but sadly, he did not. DARE took her in and worked on rehabilitating her. She does not have the use of her back legs but don't tell her that because she seems to have no idea of that fact. She is an incredible testiment to forgiveness, love, perseverance, and that is just a start. She scoots around on her little Dachshund butt and never strays far from her DARE foster mom! This little gal can really move too! I loved taking her picture as you can see. She touched my heart in so many ways. Thank you so much San Juan Animal Hospital staff! You are such wonderful people. Thank you DARE for all that you do for the precious pups that you selflessly help each and every day. You are such an inspiration to me and I am grateful and honored to be a part of the DARE organization!
