There really is no place like home

As most of you know, I have been in Las Vegas for WPPI. I flew out on Sunday on a Southwest flight loaded with a few of the finest photographers Jacksonville has to offer. During the flight, I saw Scarlett Lillian holding a precious newborn baby, Melanie snoozing like a baby and Lyndsay with her baby (well not a literal baby but her husband Anderson)! When we got to Vegas, we stayed at the MGM Grand. I was in room 16-232 with the best roomies a girl could ask for. Thanks for the fun times and for being such great roomies Scarlett, Heather and Jackie. We laughed, ate, attended parties, walked the trade show floor, took in the neon city, tested our luck at gambling, we even brought out our cameras for a hot night shoot, saw some familiar faces and some new faces, glammed it up and learned some new camera tricks. If I give into admitting I was a bit starstruck, I will say I had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with Becker, Jasmine and JD, Kenny Kim, Gary Fong, Bob and Dawn Davis, Fred Egan, Kerry Garrison and David Esquire (who I couldn't wait to meet. I love their Camera Dojo podcast!) and Mike Colon. When I say meeting, I dont just mean the usual hand shake and exchange of "hi, I am Ginger and hi, I am Jasmine" and walk away. No. They are not your typical industry superstars. They take the time to stop or sit down and chat with you, they smile and laugh with you and they are amazingly down to earth!

I have to admit that being 3 hours behind in time being in Vegas, I am not quite back to normal. I flew back in late last night on a flight with Lyndsay and Anderson. Once home, I was quick to hit my pillow and slept 11 hours and I could sleep 11 more! I am dealing with a sore throat this afternoon and I am not sure if it is a result of the smokey Vegas casinos or if I am really getting sick. Not fun. I am going to try and continue recuperating for the rest of the day and then I will be back hard at work to get some more details and images posted. On a final thought....I had an amazing time and met some amazing people, Vegas was fab, my roomies were awesome but when I saw my husband waiting for me at the JAX gate, my trip was complete. I love that man more than life itself and I am so happy to be home with him, my boys and my pups.
